What Are Common Symptoms Of Purpura NephritisPurpura nephritis is also known as Henoch-Schonlein purpura nephritis. Purpura nephritis occurs when Henoch-Schonlein Purpura(HSP) causes kidney damages. The pathogenesis of purpura nephritis is related with inflammation, medications, foods, fish, crabs and cold stimulation, plant pollen, vaccinations, animal feathers as well as paint and so on. Purpura nephritis is a systemic disease characterized by the main pathological changes of small necrotizing vasculitis and this disease spreads the whole organs. Apart from skin purpura, joint pain, abdominal pain and blood in the stool, purpura nephritis patients mainly have the symptom of blood in urine and proteinuria which usually can be seen after one month of skin purpura. And at sometimes skin purpura nephritis can be seen together with hematuria and proteinuria.

The clinical symptoms include symptoms outside the renal and renal symptoms.

1. Symptoms outside the renal

1.1 Rash

Rash is the major and primary clinical manifestation of Purpura Nephritis. It happens more on legs, hypogastrium and buttocks. With rash, patients have itching feeling. Rash usually disappear one or two weeks later and according to clinical experiments, it takes at least 2 weeks for HSP to lead to kidney damage.

1.2 Symptoms in joints

It is the common symptoms of joint pains. Joint pain occurs especially involving the knees and ankles.

1.3 Gastrointestinal symptoms

Gastrointestinal symptoms can often be seen. The patients feel abdominal pain, abdominal discomfort and diarrhea. And the abdominal pain presents paroxysmal colic.

1.4 Others

Purpura nephritis patients usually have the symptoms of lymph node enlargement, hepatosplenomegaly and tired nerves system such as headache, cramp and abnormal behavior and so on.

2. Renal symptoms

It presents abnormal urine, like proteinuria and hematuria. What’s worse, patients have declined kidney function.
